Mike Connor, lead developer for Mozilla Firefox, will discuss how developers can use the technologies available in Firefox to enhance the performance of their Web pages in order to get them running at top speeds.

In this session, Connor will cover the tools that are available to developers who are interested in writing Web pages using Web standards and Mozilla technologies. Mozilla has many resources available to developers who are interested in the languages used to write web pages for Firefox

Eric Lawrence will discuss optimizing performance with Internet Explorer:

Performance is a key consideration in our work on Internet Explorer. We’ll talk about what work we’ve done in our upcoming release, and how you can take advantage of it to build faster pages.

We’ll also cover the known performance pitfalls across versions of IE, and best practices to ensure that your site runs as fast as possible across all versions.

Lastly, we’ll show how new and existing tools can be used to troubleshoot performance problems.

Mike directs the Firefox development team and is responsible for release management for the product. He previously worked at IBM and has been an active and valuable contributor to the Mozilla Project for many years. Mike briefly attended university before leaving to pursue his interest in technology, a decision he never regrets. His wife, Majken, is also active in the Mozilla community, and they have two children and three cats, none of whom are involved in Mozilla as of now.
